World Handicap System

World Handicap System has now come into effect for golfers in the UK and Ireland.

Developed by The R&A and USGA, in close collaboration with existing handicapping authorities, the WHS provides all golfers with a consistent measure of playing ability, with handicaps calculated in the same way wherever they are in the world.

Online sign in and score card entry

During the current governments restrictions, IrelandClubs.com has now been extended to facilitate the entry into competitions online. The contactless entry of score cards allows for a safe and convenient method of participating in club competitions whenever it becomes possible to do so.

Handicap rules and regulations

The Council of National Golf Unions CONGU are the authorising body for golfers handicap.

The Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI & ILGU) is the governing body for men's and ladies amateur golf in Ireland. It represents over 430 golf clubs with over 170,000 members.
